“ALTIS” was the name of the central site of the Olympic temple, and is today the synonym for the new Centre for Sports Medicine at the Private Clinic Althofen.
Our interdisciplinary team of internationally renowned surgeons, sports physicians, sports scientists and physiotherapists provides expert medical care of the highest level. Both professional and amateur athletes have the possibility of getting treatment, and if necessary also surgery, for injuries of the shoulder, hips, or knees from our expert team of specialists. Another central area of the ALTIS range of services is the application of sports science to the compilation of training plans, analysis, and optimisation.
Our Medical Director is Univ.Doz. Dr. Georg Lajtai, originally from Carinthia, who returned to Austria after prolonged stays in the USA and Switzerland. He last held the position of department head at the University Clinic Zurich – Balgrist with Prof. Dr. C. Gerber.
